About me 🤠

I'm Audun Hilden, a full-stack developer who spends all his freetime working on side projects.

I'm currently working full-time as an IT Operations Engineer over at Helsetjenestens driftsorganisasjon for nødnett HF. We operate the communication solution for the emergency network throughout Norway.

My goal is to become independent. Whether it's through a side project that gives me the opportunity to work full-time, or a career in freelancing.

I am also genuinely curious about the future. It's kind of exciting. Especially when you realize that the "only" difference between someone who is successful and someone who is unhappy with their current situation, is the way they prioritize their goals vs. their addictions.

So — if you are disciplined enough, you can mentally train yourself to a point where you can influence more than hundreds and thousands of people.

It wasn't until later when I realized that Rocketprices (a side project I had in 2017) had been used by approx. 8 million people — I started thinking this way.

If one person can do so "little" compared to the impact (1/8,000,000) — where do I sign up to further develop those skills?

For the last 12 months I've been waking up at 3am. This leaves me with 4.5 hours of freetime before my normal 8am-4pm job.

Why so early ? Well, everyone is asleep — and I hate everyone. 🙂 I'm just kidding. However, this gives me a full 4 hours of productivity.

Everything I went through from 2016-2019 with Rocketprices was absolutely sick. I was 15 years old, and suddenly I was sitting in meetings and answering business emails (50-150 emails a day). This experience was decisive for my career.

You could say I got a dopamine rush, but - not until a few years later.
It took me a few years to realize what I had achieved, not to mention the mistakes I made along the way and how I could have done things differently.

In additon, I know that 15-year-old me has done it before.
